Somerley House has been home to the family of the Earl and Countess of Normanton for six generations. Designed by renowned English architect Samuel Wyatt in the late 1700s, the estate has been meticulously preserved and restored. One of the standout features is the 90ft Picture Gallery, added in 1850, which creates a magical atmosphere with flickering candlelight and twinkling fairy lights. The house is filled with prized art collections, including paintings by Gainsborough, Rubens, and Canaletto, as well as Chippendale furniture. The Earl and Countess have taken great care to bring this magnificent building into the 21st century while maintaining its historical grandeur.
