Well hold my Aperol Spritz and let me dig in… What an experience. Anyone ever visiting Villa Di Ulignano just be prepared for the sorry excuse of a road up the mountain. Outrageous tuscan track ha-ha. It even damaged a tyre on the rental car, goodbye €203. Anyway once up the road of doom you get outrageous views and the most beautiful villa.

I stayed just 30 seconds from Villa Di Ulignano at the Borgo Della Speranza. Such great hosts and lovely people. Air Con for the win is all i’m going to say ha-ha. So nice going back to your room at the end of the day to a chilled room after being in 35 degree heat all day and working.

Julia and Coral spent the day before the wedding around the pool with guests and later everyone changed and headed into Volterra for some Welcome Drinks and food. Lucy, from Wiskow and White suggested to the girls a lovely restaurant for the welcome drinks with absolutely incredible views of what can only feel like the whole of Tuscany. You could see for miles. Beautiful. Welcome drinks in the bag it was straight to bed ready for a hard wedding day in the heat the following day.

The wedding day was probably the longest, hardest and most beautiful wedding day I’ve photographed. 16 Hours straight pretty much from 9am to 1am and very little to no break anywhere due to the condensed timelines. Working all day in that heat is a challenge and at least a swimming pool of water was drunk ha-ha. Worth it – Villa Di Ulignano is just incredible!

The Girls got married on the lawn not far from the pool with the tuscan view behind them, perfect! A beautiful food and drinks reception followed, there was even a chef cooking fresh scallops and beef tartare. The guests had a great time whilst we captured the group portraits before Julia and Coral headed up to the villa for their first look at their table scapes/reception.

The whole dinner was just incredible with heartfelt wonderful speeches, napkin twirling and even a surprise Tenor who came down the stairs blasting out ‘Time to say goodbye’ – the guests got a big surprise and it was a highlight for even myself. He was amazing and had Coral’s mum in tears. Wonderful.

We fitted in time to go down to the Olive Groves at the bottom of the hill. Paul Van on film with that great suggestion rather than using the plain open field at the top. Great Decision. The photos would have looked lush at the top in the open field but the Olive Trees give the frames that little something extra. I have to say the Tuscany light is so much more intense than the UK. Little wonder everyone always say’s ‘The Light’s just different’ – It is!

We ended the night on the dance floor with Omero & Friends smashing it up on the decks, bongos, sax and more. The girls were partying hard on top of shoulders, guests were joining in on the bongos, cigars and cocktails were everywhere and we even had 1 girl break her foot. Bless her.

The next day is usually a right off after a wedding. The wedding hang-over is real people. BUT, we go again. A quick hour in the pool early doors before photographing the pool party from 1pm-4pm. I finished the entire Villa Di Ulignano destination wedding coverage with a photo of all the guests bombing into the pool, because why not.

That was a very brief and condensed view of this Villa Di Ulignano wedding but it was honestly amazing – It has set a high bar. Julia and Coral are just the best, they look beautiful, have great fashion sense and deliver a hell of a party – Lucy at Wiskow and White deserves a big mention too for her impeccable planning, i’m sure the girls appreciate the hard work Lucy delivers.
