Jesmond Dene House Wedding, Newcastle, Sarah + Joe

Jesmond Dene House Wedding Photographer 20

Jesmond Dene House wedding in the heart of Newcastle.

Great to be back at the ever popular Jesmond Dene House in Newcastle. Sarah and Joe’s wedding was my first wedding at Jesmond Dene House where the drinks reception was in the garden, it was lovely. every other time i’ve been the drinks were inside so it was a real change of pace and worked so well – especially with drinks and ice cream on the go. Lush

Sarah and Joe are just lush. I spent the whole day working my butt of to create some lush photos and even a highlight film which they both loved. I usually show the films on the blog but due to family requests I cant show it on here unfortunately but trust me it was lush.

It was such a great day with amazing people. So nice to chat to and have a laugh with. Everything was just lovely and sarah looked incredible in her dress. I don’t want to waffle on too much so ill leave you with what happened at the end of the night ha-ha.

Before I left to go home we had planned a photo to end the photography – Sarah and Joe came out of Jesmond Dene House on a mobility scooter, yep, you heard me, a mobility scooter. ha-ha. It was all a bit of laugh as Sarah had won it on her hen do at the bingo – or something like that ha. She mentioned it on the zoom call prior to the wedding, it was defo one of the more perplexing photo requests ha, but I’m always game lol.

“Ray was outstanding! We can’t thank him enough for capturing our wedding day! It was honestly an absolute honour and pleasure to have him photograph and film our big day! From our first meeting we knew we needed to book him! He put us so at ease, it felt like having another friend at the wedding with us. We are absolutely blown away by our film and photos, he captured the essence of our day just perfectly.

Here are some of my favourite moments from Sarah + Joe’s Jesmond Dene House Wedding.

Getting married at Jesmond Dene House?

mansion was once home to Sir Andrew Noble and has hosted everyone from royalty to Hollywood stars. A big plus is the Jesmond Dene Waterfall, just a short walk from the venue, which I love taking couples to for photos (if the weather’s on our side).

The Secret Garden is perfect for intimate outdoor ceremonies, with the peaceful sound of a waterfall close by. For a larger celebration, the Great Hall is seriously impressive. With oak paneling, a huge fireplace, and a minstrels’ gallery, it’s got space for up to 130 guests and plenty of character.

After the party, guests can kick back in one of the 40 unique rooms, each with its own style. For newlyweds, the private Apartment Suite above the Great Hall is ideal, complete with its own lounge and terrace—perfect for winding down after the day’s events.

Jesmond Dene House has flexible wedding packages, from simple elegance to luxurious options, with seasonal offers to help make your day just right. And when it comes to photos, the nearby nature reserve is a dream. Its hidden pathways, bridges, and waterfall add a bit of Newcastle’s wild beauty to every shot. It’s all about capturing the real moments—the laughs, quiet looks, and everything in between.

If you’re looking for a photographer who captures the real stuff, let’s chat. Jesmond Dene House is stunning, and I’d love to help capture your day here.
