Jason was a contestant on Professional MasterChef and represented the central region on The Great British Menu. William Hanmer purchased Iscoyd in 1737 and significantly extended the main house, while other components of the estate date as far back to the middle of the seventeenth century. Even earlier evidence shows that a residence stood on this site for centuries before then.

William Hanmer purchased Iscoyd from the mercer Thomas Deaves, who had acquired it through the Adams family – an illustrious group that established the renowned Adams’ Haberdashers School in Newport Shropshire. Subsequently, Hanmer married Elizabeth Jennens of Gopsall Leicestershire; their daughter Esther inherited Iscoyd and sold it to Congreve for £8,400 before she tied knots with Assheton Curzon (later Viscount Curzon) and shifted to Staffordshire.

In 1843, Philip Lake Godsal purchased Iscoyd Park from the Congreves for £12,500 – a princely sum at the time. He was the son of an eminent coach maker and had married Hon Grace Ann Best, daughter of Lord Wynford. Miraculously, despite several difficulties along the way, his family has remained in residence ever since!

In 2023, Hidden River will be able to accommodate 90 people onsite. The Hidden River Cabins can provide you and your guests with everything you need for a memorable experience. With seven timeless handcrafted log cabins and a luxury farmhouse with en-suite bedrooms, there is something to suit everyone’s taste. Choose from various cozy cabins, each with its own private outdoor hot tub. All of the buildings have been designed to be eco-friendly using wood from the property to fuel the heating and hot water supply.

Immerse yourself in nature with the Fishing Hideaway cabin! It’s located off the beaten path, powered by solar and wind energy, and engulfed by wild garlic, tree ferns, and wild bluebells in the spring. www.fishinghideaway.co.uk – The cabin comes fully furnished and equipped; you only need to bring food, clothes, and a swimsuit.

Tom and his crew will work with you to make sure your event is exactly what you envisioned. From global sharing platters to innovative canapés, almost anything is possible. The facilities are fully staffed and the bar has a wide range of wines, beers, and spirits for all tastes.

During your stay, you can explore acres of land and take 4-mile walks along the river. The Hidden River habitat is home to otters, roe deer, squirrels, kingfishers, and many other species. If you’re interested in fishing while you’re there, they have rods that you can rent to use in the nearby river for trout or salmon.

Besides the outstanding views, another perk of the natural countryside location are the photo opportunities. No matter if it’s in the woods, by the river or in a field, we will get some amazing shots during golden hour while the sun is setting. And if that isn’t enough for you, there is also an outdoor lawn with games like rounders and croquet! I’m able to stay late due to offering my collection exclusively to just 30 couples per year – meaning I have no back-to-back weddings and I can give 100% effort on your wedding day. It’s impossible to stay late if there’s a wedding the next day but with me that will never happen.

With a large majority of weddings the evening guests arrive around 7pm and aren’t quite ready to let their hair down at 8pm when most photographers leave, so having me there to 10pm allows them to unwind and I capture their dad dancing or half-naked shoulder carries as below.

Staying late is also advantageous for summer weddings when the sunsets aren’t until 9:30pm – 10pm. If you want some sunset portraits – I got you covered.
